- Target Sentence
- CCT3 is also known as T complex protein 1 subunit gamma (TCP1-gamma) and is a molecular chaperone that assists in the folding of proteins upon ATP hydrolysis. As part of the BBS/CCT complex, CCT3 may play a role in the assembly of BBSome, a complex involved in ciliogenesis and regulating the transport of vesicles to the cilia. CCT3 is known to play a role, in vitro, in the folding of actin and tubulin [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/ P49368].
