- SF3B155 is a subunit of the U2 small nuclear ribonucleoproteins complex (U2 snRNP) that functions in pre-mRNA splicing. SF3B155 together with splicing factor 3a binds pre-mRNA upstream of the branchpoint sequence to anchor U2 snRNP to the pre-mRNA. SF3B155 is also a component of the U12-type splicesome that is involved in the splicing of a rare class of nuclear pre-mRNA introns.
