Western Blot (WB)
Not recommended. A303-186A has not performed satisfactorily when used for WB of TAF8 in crude preparations (e.g. whole cell lysate). This antibody can be used for WB of enriched (e.g. immunoprecipitated) sources of TAF8.
Immunoprecipitation (IP)
2 - 10 µg/mg lysate
Target Sentence
Transcription initiation factor TFIID subunit 8 is one of several TATA-binding protein (TBP)-associated factors (TAFs), which are integral subunits of the general transcription factor complex TFIID. TFIID recognizes the core promoter of many genes and nucleates the assembly of a transcription preinitiation complex containing RNA polymerase II and other initiation factors. TAF8 contains an H4-like histone fold domain, and interacts with several subunits of TFIID including TBP and the histone-fold protein TAF10 [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 129685)].
